The Spotted Pig

314 W 11th St, New York, NY, 10014

Chef April Bloomfield gained celebrity status with The Spotted Pig, a corner fixture in West Village that serves seasonal British and Italian dishes in cozy, gastropub environs. Let any preconceived notions of British fare fly out the window as you alternate forkfuls of poached eggs with pork cheek hash or pickled herring fillets. Still, the decade-old establishment is best known for its burger, which is chargrilled with Roquefort cheese and served with the restaurant’s other best bet: shoestring fries.

One of my friends used to work here, and it's always been special to me. When you're celebrating something, you want to eat whatever you want. Their food is hearty and wonderful.
