Quality is key at this Asheville cocktail bar, where fresh-squeezed juices and homemade bitters and syrups flow freely. The knowledgeable bartenders craft specialty cocktails like the “Bee’s Knees” (gin, local honey syrup, and lemon) and the “Southern Gibson” (gin, Lillet Blanc, ramp bitters, tomato bitters, and pickled ramp). As an added bonus, each drink comes with a key that unlocks a vintage mailbox filled with a bar snack like pistachios, turkey jerky, or Greek phyllo bites.
Above the Thirsty Monk (which has one of the largest beer selections in the area) is Top of the Monk, a really nice prohibition-style cocktail lounge. With every drink you get a key that opens a little mailbox that randomly provides one of five snacks.
