Helen's Restaurant

2527 W Main St, Richmond, VA, 23220

What was originally a pharmacy called Fletchers back in the early 1900s, Helen’s is now a popular spot for modern all-American fare. The location has preserved much of its old-world charm—it’s been serving food since the ‘20s—and the food also leans classic with Southern staples like mac and cheese, burgers, and shrimp and grits. A favorite for brunch, the eatery is always busy on weekend afternoons when mimosas are free flowing and the crowd is lively. Oh, and one more thing: locals swear it’s haunted.

Helen’s is always fun for an early evening or late night catch-up session with friends. It’s one of my favorite places for brunch with an incredible benedict that never disappoints. They have great drink specials on Thursday nights and some of our wildest nights have been there.

Helen’s is a fantastic restaurant located in The Fan that does one of my favorite brunches in the city. Have a seat at the bar, get a Bloody Mary (made with Texas Beach Bloody Mary mix, which is made right here in Richmond) and have a hard time deciding what to eat! It’s all so good. I usually go for the shrimp and grits or the Salmon Florentine. Yum!
